Manual Handling

Policy

Murdoch University is committed to ensuring that so far as is practicable its employees are not exposed to workplace hazards that have the potential to cause manual handling injuries.

The Universities Occupational Safety and Health Policy acknowledges its statutory responsibilities to ensure that its employees, students, contractors and visitors (where applicable) are provided with adequate training, information, instruction and supervision to undertake their work tasks in a safe working manner.

The University will adopt as a guide to the process of identifying, assessing and controlling manual handling risks in the workplace the Western Australian Manual Handling Code of Practice published by Worksafe.
